As part of developing our junior archers, the WAA Junior Academy threw open its doors on Sunday 7th February to give a taster of the activities and training on offer to our junior archers through the WAA Junior Academy.
14 new junior archers, made up of 10 recurve and 4 compound archers, along with 2 of their coaches, attended the TID day held by the WAA Academy at Sophia Gardens. As part of the day, the junior archers underwent some analysis of their current techniques and were introduced to a variety of exercises, bow drills and other activities to help them develop their strength and conditioning as part of their future development.
The day was rounded off with the new archers joining in with the regular WAA academy archers, forming combined teams to compete in a Hit or Miss style Team head to head competition.
Another taster session is planned for Sunday 6th March – check out the previous news story for further information - http://www.welsharcheryassociation.com/?page=5&item=278
